|Powers and Abilities|
"Marlin may have traveled across the ocean once, but that doesn't mean he wants to do it again. So he doesn't exactly jump at the opportunity to accompany Dory on a mission to the California coast to track down her family. Marlin, of course, knows how it feels to lose family, and it was Dory who helped him find Nemo not so long ago. The clownfish may not be funny, but he is loyal - he realizes he has no choice but to pack up his nervous energy and skepticism and embark on yet another adventure, this time to help his friend."
Marlin is both caring and kind, but can also be nervous and jumpy. He loves Nemo dearly and would do anything to protect him. At the beginning of Finding Nemo, it is shown that Marlin is often overprotective of his Nemo, hanging over him and frequently fussing over his "lucky" fin. As the film progresses, however, Marlin becomes more adventurous and daring, eventually making him a legend throughout Australian waters.
Marlin is a small clownfish with bright orange and white scales. His stripes, fins and tail are lined with black and he has large brown eyes. He is almost twice Nemo's size.
- Marlin is named after an actual fish, called a marlin.
- In Monsters Inc., a painting of Marlin can be seen in the sushi restaurant where Mike and Celia go on their date.
